Land & Liberty Coalition and Conservative Energy Network attend Global Nuclear Energy Economic Summit

In November, members from the Land and Liberty Coalition and the Conservative Energy Network (CEN) attended the Global Nuclear Energy Economic Summit in Indiana. The event brought together state and national leaders to discuss how nuclear power fits into the country’s energy future and how technologies such as Small Modular Reactors and the growing electricity needs of data centers could shape the industry.

One clear theme stood out. Nuclear power is becoming part of more energy conversations across the nation. Many people do not realize that nearly one-fifth of the country’s electricity already comes from nuclear energy, and it remains one of the most reliable sources on the electric grid.

Speakers included Governor Mike Braun, David Wright, Chairman of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Suzanne Jaworoski, who serves as Indiana’s Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources. They shared how Indiana could play a role as interest in advanced nuclear technology expands.

Participation in the summit offered an opportunity to stay informed as more states explore a variety of energy options and as nuclear technology continues to evolve. With more than ninety reactors operating in 28 states, nuclear energy continues to be a steady part of the national energy mix.

Nuclear energy may not be the first thing people think about when they consider how different regions are powered, but that is part of what makes it worth understanding. As energy needs continue to rise nationwide, nuclear is likely to remain part of the broader conversation.
